Your breath is your most proximal and precious resource! Through our relationship with our breath, we can learn to regulate down and de-stress, tapping into the body’s innate ability to heal and restore itself. This session breaks down the mechanics of down-regulation before your body has a breakdown or to assist in healing. Learn how to breathe correctly, unbind muscular tension, relieve anxiety and enter into a profound state of relaxation. Learn the benefits of Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) and master the art of “Blissing Out”.
Sat., Jan. 27, 9:00 to 11:30 am, Hip Harmony – A Yoga Tune Up® Hip Focused Session
Do you sit at a desk for long hours? Are you experiencing back pain? Are you a runner or cyclist? Do you want to know how you can enjoy a lifetime of Yoga practice without abusing your soft tissues and joints? Then this session is for you! We will start by releasing long-held tension in our glutes, legs and lower back, using our grippy Yoga Tune-Up® therapy balls. Therapy balls will be available to borrow or purchase. We will then move through some fun out-of-the-box exercises and poses that will create strength, stability and spaciousness in your hips.
Sat., Jan. 27, 3:00 to 5:30 pm, Safe and Stable Shoulders, a Yoga Tune Up® Session
The events of everyday living can be enough to leave your neck and shoulders feeling tense and knotted. Repetitive movements, such as computer use, driving and the myriad of movements with our arms in front of us, can create imbalances in and around the shoulders. At the same time, many yoga postures require the shoulders to be strong, flexible and balanced; repeated improper alignment can create pain and injury. This shoulder session will guide you through playful and challenging techniques that will create spaciousness in the shoulder joint, increase your range of movement and show you how to align yourself with consistent precision.
Sun., Jan. 28, 1:30 to 4:00 pm, Total Body Attuning: Sustainable, Integrative & Embodied
This session is designed to take you on a journey of integration physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically. Prepare to drop into yourself with the powerful theme of presence that threads through these four layers like a gleaming thread of awareness weaving together an integrated and embodied experience. Through a unique sequence with innovative postures, students are led through a practice that honors sustainability within the body. Discover the language of your inner landscape by tracking sensation and staying present, a skill honed on the mat that improves presence, connection, and life off the mat.
